Jimmy Lancaster is a technologist, innovator, and entrepreneur focused on turning emerging technology into products, businesses, and competitive advantage.
Technology has always been more interesting to me when it solves a real business problem. I work at the intersection of software, product, strategy, and entrepreneurship — building systems, exploring new ideas, and figuring out where technology creates the next advantage.
I’ve spent more than 15 years building software and solving complex technology problems, but I’ve never been particularly interested in technology for technology’s sake.
I’m interested in what it makes possible.
My career has evolved from writing software to architecting platforms, building products, shaping technology strategy, and exploring new businesses. Today, much of my attention is focused on AI, SaaS, automation, PropTech, and the rapidly changing relationship between technology and business.
I still believe one of the greatest advantages a technology leader can have is understanding how things actually work.
The best way to understand how I think is to look at what I’m working on — from established technology platforms to new products, experiments, and ideas shaped by emerging shifts in technology and business.

Build Before You Buy the Hype
Emerging technology matters when it solves a meaningful problem, improves how people work, or creates new opportunities.
Technical Leaders Should Stay Technical
You don’t need to write every line of code, but understanding how technology actually works changes the quality of the decisions you make.
The Best Products Solve Business Problems
Architecture, AI, UX, and automation are tools. The real objective is building something people value enough to use, buy, or change behavior around.
Not AI as a feature checklist — how it fundamentally changes software, workflows, discovery, productivity, and the economics of building companies.
How smaller teams can build increasingly sophisticated products and how AI changes what a modern software company can look like.
Where technical decisions create business leverage — and where businesses waste enormous amounts of time and money chasing technology without a clear outcome.
The evolution of technology in multifamily housing, particularly around marketing, discovery, automation, data, and the renter experience.
How accessibility, usability, and inclusive design should be built into modern digital products from the start — not treated as compliance work added at the end.
How companies can build stronger, more flexible teams by connecting with exceptional professionals in the Philippines.
Building products, testing ideas, finding opportunity, and learning where technology can create entirely new businesses.
Notes on technology, AI, software, entrepreneurship, product strategy, and the ideas I’m currently exploring.
